“¡¡¡Propósitos de año nuevo!!! Pero... nada cambia si nada cambia.”

“New Year’s resolutions!!! But... nothing changes if nothing changes.”

Yes, what seems so obvious is the reality behind much frustration.

👩‍🔬 We need to be a little more scientific in some situations.

You don't need to know much about science, just know that there are some variables on which our problem depends: its causes or its maintaining factors.

If you don't change anything that causes or maintains your problem, whether behavioral, psychological, emotional, or cognitive... your problem won't change, and by the end of the year you'll be making the same resolution again.

Let's get scientific, he writes:

  1. ⭐What's your problem?

  2. ⭐Since when has this happened to you?

  3. ⭐What do you think causes it?

  4. ⭐What keeps it going?

  5. ⭐Based on what you've been writing, make a list of what you want to change (be as specific as possible about what that change will look like)

  6. ⭐Order that list from most to least feasible.

With all of this a little more in order , you've been able to ground your goals and, not only that, you've been able to analyze and break down the problem to find its cause. And above all, you've devised a specific plan.

With all this, I wish you a great year, and as I told everyone around me on New Year's Eve: it's going to be a great year if you make it so, take care of it.
