Follow-ups - Endocrinology

Endocrinology is the field of medicine that studies the body's hormones and the organs that produce them. Hormones are substances that are produced in various organs (endocrine glands) such as the thyroid or pancreas and are sent through the blood to control various functions throughout the body, which are essential for life.

From a clinical point of view, endocrinology studies disorders in hormonal function (excess or absence of hormones) or diseases of various causes that affect the organs that produce them (such as tumors, infections, inflammation, among others).

Based on the symptoms, the clinical examination, hormonal measurements and sometimes images, a diagnosis is established and treatments are proposed that can be very effective or curative for the comprehensive management of various conditions.
